Words are not enough to describe how much we appreciate Jacob’s help in both selling our former home and helping us find our new one. He is an excellent communicator - he kept us on task throughout the process. Which is a major feat since we really struggled to find something we liked. He was very patient and a good sounding board. He advocated for us when some minor issues occurred on closing our purchase. Moving is not my favorite thing to do … but Jacob is so skilled it was almost fun.

Jacob is the exact person you want to help you buy your home! He is trustworthy, honest, and knowledgeable and we felt so lucky to have his support as first-time home buyers. Jacob was incredibly generous with his time and energy, taking the time to answer all our questions and demystify escrow, loans, etc. He was direct and clear and shared his professional opinions in a way that felt collaborative as opposed to overbearing or pushy. He also was a strong and strategic negotiator. He worked hard to coordinate inspections and talk us through the paperwork, and even arranged to have repair and tradespeople come by and give quotes while we were out of town. Plus, he's so positive and fun; you'll even have a good time while you're staying up late reviewing legal documents!

When my wife and I identified a property that we were interested in purchasing, we wanted an experienced realtor we could trust who understands local markets, could guide us through the idiosyncrasies of Californian property transactions and who we felt good about working with and supporting as a business partner. I had previously met Jacob via his wife, an emergency room nurse I work with, and had an intuition that he would be that kind of realtor. I am very happy to report that I was correct in that judgment. Jacob helped us structure a fair offer that was accepted on the first try. He then spent many hours combing through inspections, records, maps and even folders of receipts documenting work that had been done on this property. He physically went to the county permitting office when they opened to look into a permitting issue that came up. He had a panel of experts available to consult when questions came up regarding findings on inspections. His previous military experience was evident in how he approaches his work and life. He is a very conscientious and generally smart human being, which is what you should want in anyone helping you with something like buying an expensive piece of property here in coastal California. There's a lot of paperwork involved (or Docusigns, as it were) and it isn't for the weak of heart. He also has a lot of real life experience with owning and managing rural homes and land as well, which is helpful when it came to navigating permitting issues and off-the-grid idiosyncrasies such as wells and propane in our particular case. Jacob was responsive, professional and clear in his communication and just generally went above and beyond in helping us buy a home here on the central coast. 5/5, A+. Hopefully won’t ever have to buy another home for the rest of my life, but if I do, I’ll call Jacob.
